Westminster Savings team rappels down high-rise tower and raises $20K for Easter Seals

CEO and staff make like caped crusaders in Easter Seals Drop Zone event

Surrey, B.C. – Six Westminster Savings staff, including President and CEO Gavin Toy, made like caped crusaders and rappelled down the side of their 25-storey office tower at Surrey Central City at the Easter Seals Drop Zone on Monday.

Toy says the Drop Zone event was memorable for the nerve-rattling descent and for the dollars raised for Easter Seals.

“Stepping over the edge of the building definitely raised the adrenaline but it was absolutely worth it. Thanks to our team of rappelling staff and everyone who donated to the cause, we raised $10 thousand over the past few weeks and Westminster Savings will be matching that amount for a donation of $20 thousand in total. We’re proud to be able to support Easter Seals House and Easter Seals Camp, two essential programs supporting individuals with disabilities to live an active life, seek their potential, and contribute to their communities.”

Money raised through the 2019 Easter Seals Surrey Drop Zone will support programs that help people living with disabilities address life's challenges and build their self-esteem, self-confidence and sense of independence.
