Westminster Savings Credit Union welcomes new Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and Chief Credit Officer

New Westminster, B.C. – October 1, 2015 – Westminster Savings Credit Union (Westminster Savings) is pleased to announce Brian Rogers has joined as Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and Chief Credit Officer.

Brian joins Westminster Savings from Coast Capital Savings Credit Union where he held the position of Vice President, Corporate Development. He has a strong background in commercial operations and credit having been responsible for Coast Capital's commercial credit risk function for three years as Vice President, Commercial Credit Risk. As SVP, Commercial Operations and CCO, Brian will have oversight for commercial and all credit operations.

"As part of the Executive Leadership Team, Brian will play a key role in helping to grow the business," says Gavin Toy, President and CEO. "He has more than 20 years' experience in financial services, credit, commercial operations and credit risk management, which will be invaluable to our credit union."

Brian started his career in the financial services industry with HSBC Bank Canada. He spent 16 years with HSBC and, in his last position there, was Head of Business Banking. Brian is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has a Masters of Business Administration from York University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. He assumes his role at Westminster Savings today.

Brian replaces Mark Carter, who announced his retirement from the credit union earlier this year after 16 years of service. "We thank Mark for his many contributions to the credit union," says Mr. Toy. "Under his leadership, Westminster Savings benefited from industry leading credit loss ratios while delivering top line growth year over year. Mark has been an integral part of the credit union and our Executive Team, and we wish him well as he embarks upon his retirement."
