MEMBER CARD® debit cards now offer Interac Flash® technology.

Now you can make purchases for under $100 with a simple tap.

Interac Flash® is a contactless solution that allows members to pay for everyday purchases quickly, securely and conveniently by tapping their card on any compatible payment terminal.

MEMBER CARD® debit cards with Interac Flash® technology provide customers with the same access to online banking from computers, mobile phones and over 3,300 ATMs across Canada.

How does it work?

  1. Look for the Interac Flash symbol
  2. Hold your card in front of the terminal
  3. Wait for the beep and/or approved message and go


  • Saves time – simply tap and go.
  • Secure – transactions cannot exceed $100 and you are not liable for loses from circumstances beyond your control*

Security Features

  • One Time Spending limit. A single transaction cannot exceed $100. If your purchase is above this limit, you will be prompted to insert your card and enter your PIN. There is a cumulative spending limit of $200, and when the limit is reached, you will also be asked to insert your card and enter their PIN. This limit is reset every time you enter your PIN.
  • Zero Liability. You are not liable for losses from circumstances beyond your control using Interac Flash. Click here to view more information.
  • Configurable by your branch team. If you would like, this function can be turned off on your card. To do so, please contact our Member Service Centre at 604-517-0100.

Questions you may have

1. When will I receive my new card?

We will be replacing all our active MEMBER CARD® debit cards between September and December of this year. You can expect to receive your card via mail during this period.

2. What do I do when I recieve my new card?

  • Sign the back of your new card.
  • Activate your MEMBER CARD® by making a transaction at any ATM or in-store purchase using your current PIN.
  • Destroy your old card.
