Westminster Savings branches support local communities through a limited number of small donations ($300 or less).

Westminster Savings makes a limited amount of funding available to assist organizations looking for small funding donations (approximately $300 or less) or in-kind donations such as silent auction or door prizes for non-profit events and initiatives. Organizations seeking support must submit a written request (1-2 pages) to their local Westminster Savings branch for consideration at least two months prior to the start of the initiative/event.

Requests must include the following information:

  • which community the event/initiative will take place in and how many people are expected to attend or benefit
  • what relationship your organization has with Westminster Savings
  • how the event/initiative supports arts or active living in the community
  • what type of support you are requesting (funding or in-kind donation)
  • email and phone contact details for your organization

What we support:

  • Community events, programs and activities that promote engagement with the arts, enrich the lives of individuals and families and help create rich and diverse communities
  • Community events, programs or activities that promote active living and enhance overall physical, mental and emotional health, leading to a balanced lifestyle
  • Events and programs that build community, transcend cultural boundaries, promote diversity and equality, address barriers to participation, provide hands-on engagement and promote social connectedness through the arts and/or recreational opportunities

Ineligible requests – what we do not provide donations for:

  • For-profit organizations
  • Events taking place in municipalities outside of Westminster Savings’ trade areas (White Rock, Surrey, Cloverdale, Langley, Burnaby, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Tricities and New Westminster, South Vancouver)
  • Religious organizations—except for non-denominational activities and services that are open to all persons
  • Touring, hospitality or travel costs (e.g. transportation fare, meals, accommodation)
  • Contests, tournaments or competitions
  • Individuals (e.g. artists or athletes)
  • Conferences or training
  • Capital endowment campaigns
  • Fundraising walks, marathons, challenges
  • Individual sports teams, clubs or leagues (at any level)
  • Requests for retroactive funding

Requests can be submitted in writing to a local branch of Westminster Savings. Please ensure your request is within at least two months of your event/initiative start date.
