In Our Community

Westminster Savings is committed to helping our communities thrive. As a designated Caring Company, Westminster Savings has one of the largest credit union foundations in Canada and contributes a percentage of pre-tax profit to charities and nonprofits annually.  As a result, Westminster Savings helps, helping to set the standard for corporate community investment in Canada. Through our community investment program, we’re creating access to arts and active- living opportunities across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley for those at a disadvantage, in turn enriching lives and making our communities healthier and more inclusive places to live.

Community Investment

We believe in providing access to arts and active living opportunities in the communities where we live and work. Participation in arts and active living leads to greater self-confidence, athletic development, personal expression, enhanced critical thinking and social reinforcement. It makes our communities healthier, more inclusive places to live.

Every year we donate more than $500,000 in sponsorships and grants to organizations that provide arts and active living opportunities in our communities.

How we're helping

“A special focus is placed on making our programs accessible to as many children and youth in our communities as possible. With the support of donors such as yourself, more than 20,000 kids discover the magic each year – with 14,500 students participating for little to no cost through free programs, bursaries and scholarships. In our inspiring studios and classrooms, they immerse themselves in technique and as they gain skills they also build confidence, develop patience and discover the freedom of artistic thinking. Thank you for being a part of this journey as we work to inspire lasting creativity in every child.”

- Paul Laroque, President and CEO, Arts Umbrella
